Lufkin, February 19, 2010 The Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau (LCVB) has a new look! The LCVB is proud to introduce its new logo with a fresh, modern design incorporating the Texas Forest County and Lake Sam Rayburn.

When I started this process of creating a new logo, I asked multiple ad agencies in an around Angelina County to respond to an RFP, request for proposal. I had six out of seven agencies respond and three of those provided logo ideas as requested in the RFP,” said Tara Watson Watkins, executive director of the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau. “I was looking for a new logo that would incorporate our natural resources as well as be appealing to corporations who might possibly bring their companies to Lufkin for meetings or travel opportunities.”
After careful consideration, Point A Media was chosen to represent the LCVB as the new ad agency. “I had the opportunity to work with Point A years before while I was the Marketing Director at Woodland Heights Medical Center and had a great relationship with them. They have always provided me with the most sophisticated work and are not afraid to think outside the box,” Watson Watkins said. “During the RFP process, Point A Media came and spent time with us finding out what direction we were wanting to go in and discussing ways to better promote Lufkin within the travel and tourism industry.”
The new logo will roll out in new ads that will start appearing in travel magazines, online websites, etc. as well as on our website. For more information about the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau—places to stay, shop, eat and visit, go to our website at www.visitlufkin.com.
