A great excuse to get together with your girlfriends, get out of the heat, and pamper yourself at a fun event designed just for women, The Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau attended VISIONS: The Women's Expo, the largest women’s expo in the Southwest on August 25-26.
Well-established as a shopper's paradise, VISIONS featured 300 exhibitors, offering everything from unique gifts items, fashion accessories, and treasures for the home or garden, to on-site massages, health and beauty products, and travel packages for a well-deserved getaway. Attendees have access to the latest health and nutrition tips, financial advice and services, information on entrepreneurship and small business, and assistance from over 40 local non-profit organizations.
“Women play a huge role in making leisure travel decisions. Forty-five percent suggest vacation ideas, fifty-four percent research details, thirty-eight percent make the final decision and forty-nine percent book the trip,” said Alisha Burrow, Manager of the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Lufkin was well received by attendees—from breathtaking photographs and informative brochures to our attractive display. And with the Texas State Forest Festival coming up, many attendees were excited that they could plan a fun weekend getaway to Lufkin and bring their family.
The Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau looks forward to more tradeshow opportunities in the upcoming year, including the McAllen International Travel Show and the ABA Bus Tour Association. “Travel is so emotional-driven. It take more that just mailing a brochure to a potential visitor. Visitors want to hear the excitement and discuss attractions and sights available for them to be moved to visit a particular destination,” said Burrow.
