The Lufkin Convention & Visitors Bureau attended the TACVB (Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus) Fourth Annual Mid-Winter Education Conference in Odessa, Texas on January 14 – 16, 2008.
“This is a great conference for not only networking with other CVB’s across Texas, but also to learn about current tourism trends, ideas and ways to improve your CVB in your community,” said Alisha Burrow, Manager for the Lufkin Convention & Visitors Bureau
The Texas Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus was organized in 1972 for the purpose of providing cooperative action to enhance and encourage the growth of the convention and visitor industry in Texas. Through the Texas convention & visitor bureaus we identify and promote cultural diversity, rich history, hidden treasures, and off-the-beaten-path places of interest across the state along with all the well-known icons that say “Texas” to anyone anywhere.
The Mid-Winter Conference included workshops and seminars on convention servicing, tourism sales, marketing, and more. Topics ranged from “The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly” bid presentations, “How to Keep the Sizzle in Your Brand,” and “A Look into the Future of Convention Sales.”
The Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau, a division of the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce, promotes economic development through tourism and encourages tourists to visit and enjoy historical, cultural, and recreational opportunities in Lufkin and Angelina County.
