This brunch takes place over Mother's Day weekend. “I have been mulling over this idea for at least a year after enjoying a delicious brunch on vacation while in Florida. It's taken a little time to put it all together but we are ready to roll out another great event for our residents and visitors in Downtown Lufkin,” said Tara Watson-Watkins, Director of the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It’s really a play on words with the "Jam" being the music and the "Toast" being Champagne and wine! We are excited to be showcasing the Brick Street Blues Band from Nacogdoches and are honored to once again partner with Brookshire Brothers.”
Jam and Toast will be set up in a similar fashion to Lufkin’s Farm Fest with seating for 150 people on one long table all the way down First Street and most dishes being served family style. Our incredible local chefs, Kate Rudasill, Catering Director for Brookshire Brothers and Britany Vincent, owner and master chef of Tome Catering, will cater brunch. “We thought it would be a great time to welcome families that might be visiting for Mother’s Day Weekend to one of our local events and hope that you will bring your out of town guests to see what's all going on in Downtown Lufkin,” Watkins said. Ticketed guests will arrive at 9:30AM, will be able to enjoy bellini’s in the Open Alamo area next to The Pines, and then will enjoy a sit down meal starting around 10AM.
Jam and Toast will be held in conjunction with Main Street Market Days, a new monthly event being put on by the LCVB and Main Street. This monthly event will take place the 2nd Saturday of the month starting April 8. First Street will be blocked off to through traffic and vendors will line the street selling everything from food to soap to clothes as well as our downtown merchants being open and ready to show off their cute stores.
