Saturday, April 8th we kick off a new monthly tradition in Downtown Lufkin with Main Street Market Days. This monthly event will take place on the second Saturday of every month starting in April.
First Street will be blocked off to through traffic, and the streets will be transformed into a market place with vendors lining both sides of the streets. “Market Days will feature everything from food to homemade goods to clothes, crafts and art as well as our downtown merchants being open. This will be a shopping extravaganza that you don’t want to miss,” said Barbara Thompson, Main Street director.
“We thought this would be a great chance for families to get together and enjoy our beautiful, thriving downtown, as well as attract new visitors to the area,” said Tara Watson-Watkins, Director of the Lufkin Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Our hope is that this will grow each month and that our residents and visitors will start planning to spend the 2nd Saturday of each month perusing the shops and booths and will make it a monthly tradition!”
Bring the whole family and mark your calendars for the second Saturday of each month and enjoy a great day of shopping and exploring in Downtown Lufkin.
If you are interested in becoming a vendor, booth spaces are $50 each, and full details can be found online at www.visitlufkin.com or by calling 936-633-0205.
