LUFKIN AREA NEWS
Lots of activities for all during October

We are excited to announce that once again, the 6th Annual Lufkin’s Bistro is sold out. Over the years we have increased the number of tickets sold and we have always been privileged to have a sold-out crowd. This year was no different, we increased the numbers to 900 and we sold out at the quickest rate yet, with 100 people on a waiting list. We would like to thank the community for their continued support and we hope to continue the tradition of Lufkin’s Bistro for many years to come. If you were not fortunate enough to get tickets to Lufkin’s Bistro, remember that Bistro is always scheduled for the first Saturday in October. Mark your calendars for next year and remember to call early.

The first Saturday in October is not only reserved for Lufkin’s Bistro, but the annual Pineywoods Purgatory bike ride. Saturday is the 24th annual Pineywoods Purgatory. If you have not signed up to ride, but still wish to, it is not too late. Registration is taking place this evening at the George H. Henderson Jr. Exposition Center as well as early tomorrow morning. This ride is designed to accommodate the most experienced to novice riders, so join in on the fun. As riders complete their route, the Exposition Center will have a fabulous catered lunch waiting for them. This is a great event, so don’t hesitate to get involved. For more information on registration please contact the Exposition Center at 637-3976.
