Back to School Bonanza is a community-wide event for students Pre-K through 12th grade in Angelina County. It is presented by the Junior League of Lufkin, in conjunction with Angelina County churches, service organizations, and businesses. Our goal is to provide students with the items they need to start back to school, at no cost to the families. We offer free backpacks filled with school supplies, health kits, uniforms, shoes, socks, and undergarments. This year the event is drive-thru style, due to Covid-19 safety precautions. It will be held at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center (601 N. 2nd Street Lufkin, TX 75901), on Saturday, August 8th, from 8am-1pm. We encourage participants to pre-register to save time the day of the event. You can pre-register at www.juniorleagueoflufkin.org, or find the Junior League of Lufkin on Facebook. Pre-registration will be open until July 31st. You can also look on the website or Facebook for on-site pre-registration information. For families that are pre-registered, the event starts at 8am on Saturday, August 8th on the South side parking lot. If you are pre-registered and your last name is A-M, we ask that you please pick up supplies 8am-10am on the day of the event. If you are pre-registered and your last name is N-Z, please pick up supplies 10am-12noon on the day of the event. For families that need to register the day of the event, we will start at 9am on the North side parking lot. Please bring your ID and proof of enrollment.
