Ice Skating in the Pines

The 2022 holiday season will bring a new and exciting tradition to share with your friends and family. Ice Skating in the Pines will open Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Pitser Garrison Convention Center, Angelina Room. Ice skating rinks are synonymous with wintertime fun. Strap on some blades, and depending on your skill level, chop or glide across 3,300 square feet of ice for a jolly good time.

Skating in the Pines Ice Skating Reservation 

$12.95 for children 12 years and under

$16.95 for 12 years and older online tickets

$18.95 for 12 years and older in person

Reservations Required & Ticket Holder MUST show up 15 minutes prior to your Ice Skating session.

Tickets are good for one 45 minute skating sessions on the ice rink.

NO LATE ENTRY IS PERMITTED.

 

Tickets are Valid ONLY on the Specific Date and Time Shown on the Ticket that you have selected based on availability. This ticket is valid for one – 45-minute Ice Skating session. This ticket includes your ice skating session and ice skate rental. 

 

Things to Know 

  • 18 + may sign their own waiver
  • 17 and under must have a parent or legal guardian sign their waiver prior to entry into the ice arena
  • Every skater must have a waiver filled out, even spectators on stage
  • Skate aids & helmets are available on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional charge
  • Restrooms are available
  • Shoe sizes are available in  Children's 9 - Men's 15 (The minimum shoe requirement is Youth Size 9. If the participant’s shoe size is smaller than Youth Size 9, rentals will not be available.)
  • Socks are mandatory (not provided) for this ice skate rental

 

Skaters’ Code of Responsibility

Ice skating is an inherently dangerous and physically demanding athletic ability. Please abide by the following rules and help make Ice Skating in the Pines a wonderful experience for everyone.

  • Ice skates must be worn to enter the ice rink.
  • Read and abide by all signs
  • Follow announcements, and obey the instructions of the skate guards.
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Cell phones, headphones, cameras, backpacks, and pocketbooks are not permitted on the ice.
  • Food and drinks are not permitted on the ice.
  • Skating while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.
  • No sitting or climbing on the railings.
  • No carrying a child while ice skating. This is very dangerous for the child. 
  • Ice skating participants must be able to stand/walk alone without assistance.
  • No more than two people may hold hands while skating.
  • Do not congregate at the railings or block the entrances/exits.
  • Backward jumps and backward skating are not permitted when the rink is crowded.
  • Please report any injury to an Ice Skating in the Pines staff member.
  • Skate respectfully.
  • No abusive, aggressive, abrasive, or disorderly conduct, which may include weaving, pushing, and power stopping.

 

Accessibility

Ice Skating in the Pines provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. As such, both manual and motorized wheelchairs are permitted on the ice, accessible seating is available in the concession area, and accessible restrooms will allow for an enjoyable ice skating experience for all participants. Users who wish to enjoy the ice using a manual wheelchair may be pushed by a member of their party who is on ice skates. We recommend that Users who use a motorized or manual wheelchair on the ice be safely secured by a seatbelt or other type of restraint while on the ice. If additional assistance is needed, please notify a member of the staff. The City of Lufkin and Ice Skating in the Pines is in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

If you are skating in any manner that endangers your fellow skaters, you may be warned and/or asked to leave the ice. Ice Skating in the Pines staff members reserves the right to permanently ban aggressive skaters from The Rink. To ensure the safety of our guests, participants may NOT be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, when entering the Ice Arena.

Ice Skating in the Pines reserves the right to refuse entry into the Ice Arena.
